One thing I’ve learned is that good people grow fastest when they’re trusted with real responsibility. Yes, we have systems and processes. But we also want our team to ask questions, use judgement, challenge ideas, and come up with better ways of doing things.

Aaran and Marko have always been big on giving people opportunities to step up, and that has shaped the way our team works today.

I experienced that myself, starting here as an intern, working through uni and CA, and gradually being trusted with more.

‍

Now the bigger lesson is seeing the same thing happen with others.

Train people well. Give them clear expectations. Then give them room to think.

‍

Because the goal isn’t to build a business where only a few people have the answers.

It’s to build a team full of people capable of finding them.

‍

And we’re lucky — we’ve got an incredible team at Advanced Accounting doing exactly that.
