Being busy is easy. Knowing what matters is the hard part.

Being busy is easy. Knowing what matters is the hard part.

In business, there is never a shortage of things to do.

Emails, meetings, phone calls and small problems can quickly fill an entire day.

You can be flat out from morning to night and still feel like nothing important actually moved forward.

One thing I’m still learning is that being busy and making progress are not always the same thing.

The work that makes the biggest difference is often the easiest to delay — having the difficult conversation, fixing a broken process, following up an opportunity, or finally making a decision.

A full calendar doesn’t always mean a productive week.

Sometimes the best question to ask is:

If I could complete only one thing today, what would make the biggest difference?

Then protect the time to do it.

Because business growth rarely comes from doing more of everything.

It comes from doing more of what matters.
